State of Space

The Onset Technologies Business Development team will be taking part in the Greater Houston Partnership’s State of Space. State of Space brings together leaders from NASA’s Johnson Space Center and some of the most prominent aerospace organizations today for an insightful conversation on how public and private cooperation is enabling the next frontier of space exploration.

It is estimated that the global space economy could generate revenue of $1 trillion or more by 2040. In Texas alone it is estimated to reach upwards of $57.6 billion—and Houston stands to grab a sizable share.

For over 60 years, NASA has positioned the U.S. as a leader in space technology and exploration. And Johnson Space Center, one of NASA’s largest R&D facilities, has made Houston the epicenter of human space exploration.

NASA’s continued mission to put people in space—sustainably and at scale—marks the beginning of a new era of cooperation with private firms. Many of these partnerships are taking place at the Houston Spaceport, which is serving as a catalyst for growth in the commercial space sector.
